Ischinger's participation in roundtable on national dialogue vital for Ukraine - Yatseniuk
Ukraine appreciates the OSCE's role in resolving the situation in the country, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said at a meeting with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Boryspil Airport early on Tuesday.
"I would like to note that Ambassador Ischinger's participation [German diplomat Wolfgang Ischinger who was appointed by the OSCE as its negotiator on dialogue in Ukraine] in a roundtable on national dialogue is significant and decisive for us. We welcome it," Yatseniuk said.
He also added: "As part of the national dialogue, we want to discuss five issues: constitutional reform, decentralization of power, corruption, economic and humanitarian policy."
"We appreciate the OSCE's role in preparations for and assistance in holding such a national dialogue," Yatseniuk said.
He said that Ukraine's position on an international negotiation format remained unchanged.
"With regard to an international negotiation format, our position has been and remains unchanged. We believe that the international negotiation format should consist of four sides - Ukraine, the European Union, the United States and the Russian Federation," he said.
