European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule visited the central hospital of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry on Wednesday, the ministry's press service has reported.

Fule called on Ukrainian politicians to remember the consequences of their decisions and recalled that there are people on both sides of barricades in Kyiv.

He said that visiting medical institutions had become part of the program of his visit to Kyiv for the first time. He also familiarized himself with the conditions for the treatment of Ukrainian law enforcement officers injured during riots on Hrushevskoho Street in the Ukrainian capital.

Interior Ministry representatives, in turn, showed the footage depicting the consequences of unlawful actions by rioters. He also had an opportunity to talk with several police officers who are now receiving treatment at the ministry's central hospital.

Fule also said that at this moment it was not important for him on which side of the barricades those injured were standing, because these are people who have been injured. He also said that he would like to express his human solidarity and thank the doctors for their professional work.

"I would like to appeal to politicians: when they are working out the issue of today and tomorrow in Ukraine, they should bear in mind that some of their decisions have such consequences," Fule said.
