Foreign Minister of Bulgaria Kristian Vigenin has said that there are no urgent unresolved questions in the relations between Bulgaria and Ukraine.

"We have no urgent unsettled issues, and now we're trying to actively develop our cooperation in culture, science and tourism," Vigenin said at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Leonid Kozhara in Kyiv on Friday.

Vigenin said that his visit to Ukraine was aimed at giving new impetus to bilateral relations and to demonstrate support from Bulgaria regarding the signing of the Association Agreement and Agreement on a Free Trade Area (FTA) between Ukraine and EU.

Kozhara, in turn, said that the sides agreed to step up the dialogue between the countries at the highest level. In particular, a visit of the Bulgarian president to Ukraine and a visit of the Ukrainian premier to Bulgaria have been scheduled for 2014.

According to the Ukrainian foreign minister, during the talks, the Bulgarian party took the decision to intensify the work of inter-government bilateral mechanisms, and work to improve trade-economic relations and cultural cooperation.

The Ukrainian minister said that the Days of Ukrainian Culture held in Bulgaria this year were a success. The ministers also discussed the celebration in Bulgaria of the 200th birthday of Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko.
