Azarov: Kyiv wants to implement joint agricultural projects with Netherlands

Ukraine wants to implement joint projects with the Netherlands in the agricultural sector, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

"What the agricultural sector in the Netherlands has managed to achieve over the last few years is, of course, a sign of great progress for which we are striving," he said at a meeting with representatives of the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers in The Hague on Friday.

Azarov said that Ukraine's agricultural sector had been reformed in recent years and there were already positive results. He said that the government welcomes investment in this sector and that a number of foreign companies from European countries are already operating in Ukraine.

Azarov expressed hope that in future Ukraine and the Netherlands would manage to implement major joint projects in this sector.

"I want to assure you that the Ukrainian government will support such projects," he said.

Members of the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers, in turn, said at the meeting that Ukraine is an important country in the agricultural sector and that Dutch companies want to maintain cooperation in this area.
