The Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union has filed a lawsuit at the Pechersky District Court in Kyiv against representatives of the Party of Regions and the Communist Party of Ukraine who shouted the word "fascists" during meetings of the Verkhovna Rada.

"We submitted a lawsuit to the Pechersky District Court in Kyiv regarding the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation against those persons who identified themselves during their speeches in the Verkhovna Rada, who directly called Svoboda 'fascists,'" Svoboda faction deputy Oleh Makhnitsky told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.

He said that the lawsuit concerns Party of Regions faction leader Oleksandr Yefremov, Party of Regions MP Inna Bohoslovska and Communist Party faction leader Petro Symonenko.

Makhnitsky noted that the speeches of these MPs were contained in the minutes of parliament meetings, adding that "they [the MPs representing the majority in parliament] were shouting this."

He also said that the lawsuit was filed last week.

As reported, in March 2013, at some meetings of the Verkhovna Rada speeches by MPs who expressed their thoughts in Russian were accompanied by opposition parliamentarians shouting "Speak Ukrainian!" When opposition MPs delivered their speeches, the majority MPs were shouting "Fascists!"
