Ukraine's Foreign Ministry advises Ukrainians not to travel to some Egyptian cities

The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has recommended that Ukrainians not travel to several cities in Egypt.

"Since the situation in Egypt has worsened, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry recommends Ukrainian citizens not travel to this country, in particular, to such cities as Cairo, Alexandria, Asyut, Islamiya, Taba, Port Said, Suez, Sohag, Beni Suef, Minya, Qena, Faiyum, as well the region of North Sinai," reads a report from the Interior Ministry's press service on Monday.

The ministry also informed that resort cities of South Sinai, such as Sharm el-Sheikh, Taba, Nuweiba, Dahab, are safe. However, it is better to travel to these resorts only by air.

To reduce threats to the life and health of the Ukrainian citizens who are in these resort cities, it was recommended that they remain on the territory of the hotel and not make private trips to the city and outlying areas.

If they are in trouble, Ukrainian citizens can contact Ukraine's Embassy in Egypt using a round-the-clock phone line: +201000039648, or call the hotline of the Department of Consular Service of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry: +38 044 238 1657.
