Three more people sought medical assistance after a gas cylinder exploded at the Aprel restaurant at 25 Velyka Vasylkivska Street in Kyiv on February 17, the press office of the State Service on Emergency Situations told Interfax-Ukraine on Sunday.

Thus, the number of those injured in the explosion rose to 11, with three of them sustaining 80% burns to their bodies and five sustaining various injuries, bruises and minor burns.

According to the press service, the blast damaged about 130 square meters of the slab between the basement and the first floor, one floor slab was destroyed, and several load-bearing walls in the basement were partially damaged.

As reported, a gas cylinder exploded and triggered a fire at a restaurant in central Kyiv at 1507 on Sunday. Five people were injured in the accident and hospitalized.

The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes. The city's main police office said an investigative team had left for the scene to clarify the details of the accident.
