Kyiv-based AeroSvit Airline has offered its apologies to the passengers of its Bangkok-Kyiv flight for any inconveniences in connection with the delay of the flight's departure due to the problems with the payment for services of the airport.

The airline explained that the transfer of assets it received from sale of its services to its accounts had been groundlessly blocked.

In connection with this, AeroSvit had to seek other resources to pay for the airport's services and failed to do this in time, due to the time difference between Kyiv and Bangkok. The flight was to depart from Thailand at 0100 Kyiv time.

The payments have been carried out and the flight is to depart from Bangkok soon. The passengers were accommodated at hotels and provided with food, according to the airline.

"At the same time, the delay in the arrival of the aircraft from Bangkok to Kyiv will result in further failures in the schedule of long-haul flights, including the cancellation of today's flight for New York," the airline said.

AeroSvit called on all of its partners, service providers and banks to comply with the current agreements and fulfill their obligations to the company in time and in full, as their violations result in serious delays in the carrier's operations.

The airline also said it reserves the right to demand that partners who violate agreements compensate it for the extra costs the company suffers due to delays and the cancellation of flights.

"The airline will issue a special statement to inform about the reasons for and those guilty of blocking the transfer of AeroSvit's earnings from sales of tickets to its accounts," AeroSvit said.

As reported, more than 200 passengers on an AeroSvit flight were unable to depart from Bangkok on Thursday.

AeroSvit was created in 1994. It is based at Boryspil airport in Kyiv. It serves 80 international destinations in 34 countries. It provides services to passengers in the largest cities of Ukraine. Its fleet consists of 28 Boeing aircraft, including 20 medium-range Boeing 737s and eight long-haul Boeing 767s. In addition to that, it operates Airbus 320, Airbus 321, Embraer 145, Embraer 190, and ATR-72 aircraft.
