The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine recommends Ukrainian citizens take into account the situation with AeroSvit Airline while planning trips.

"The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine recommends Ukrainian citizens take into account the situation with AeroSvit Airline while planning trips outside Ukraine," Deputy Head of the Information Policy Department of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Vasyl Zvarych said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday.

He added that the Foreign Ministry hopes that the airline will treat its obligations to passengers in a more responsible way.

According to Zvarych, the ministry and Ukrainian diplomats abroad are doing their best to help those of their compatriots facing problems due to the delays and cancellation of AeroSvit flights.

As reported, Boryspil International Airport suspended servicing of flights of AeroSvit Airline starting from flight VV 257 Kyiv-Copenhagen at 1250 on January 4, 2012 due to the non-observation of the financial discipline by the airline.

Later on, AeroSvit said it had settled the issue of paying for services provided by Boryspil International Airport.

AeroSvit was created in 1994. It is based at Boryspil airport in Kyiv. It serves 80 international destinations in 34 countries. It provides services to passengers in the largest cities of Ukraine. Its fleet consists of 28 Boeing aircraft, including 20 medium-range Boeing 737s and eight long-haul Boeing 767s.
