Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said that politicians and experts who predict a fall in the hryvnia, thereby undermining the exchange rate itself, should be publicly shamed.

"I think that they should be punished by public opinion. We are ready to facilitate this, for example, to pick up a selection of statements made by such pseudo-experts over the last ten years and publish them in our media. Do you think this is a good idea?" he wrote on his page on Facebook, while communicating with users on Friday.

He said panic and panic-mongers were the most dangerous enemy in a military situation. In a military situation, panic-mongers could be the cause of deaths of thousands of people, therefore very strict measures were applied to them, he added.

"At a time of peace, panic-mongers bring tremendous material damage. Just remember the panic that was created on the markets for buckwheat, flour, sunflower oil and currency," Azarov said.
