Criminal case opened regarding driving Investor ex-head Motylevsky to suicide

The Moskovsky district department of Ukrainian Interior Ministry's main office in Kharkiv region has opened a criminal case under the Article 120 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (driving to suicide) on the basis of the suicide note of former Head of JSC Investor Oleksandr Motylevsky.

As chief of the investigation department of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's main office in Kharkiv region Zinoviy Halavan said at the press conference in Kharkiv on Thursday, in the suicide note of October 31, entitled "Saga about people and monsters," Motylevsky accuses ex-head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Arsen Avakov of "setting up a great number of people."

"I won't read everything. Just a part: It is I who wrote [this note], Motylevsky Oleksandr Leonidovych… It's hard to believe what Avakov Arsen Borysovych has done. God will be his judge. How could he set up a great number of his employees, and not resolve their problems? All in all, greediness for money exceeds his level of honour and responsibility," Halavan said.

According to him, after reading the suicide note, the law enforcement agencies had questions to Avakov. Halavan also said "that a criminal case was opened because a definite surname of a person was named", whose actions could be the reason for Motylevsky death.

As reported, Motylevsky, who recently led the board of Investor, a company owned by the ex-head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Avakov, on October 31 fell from his apartment on the ninth floor.

In the opinion of Avakov, Motylevsky committed suicide, as he was unable to bear stress.

From 2005 Motylevsky held the post of deputy chairman of JSC Investor, and from September 2011 to May 2012, he was the acting board chairman of the company. Earlier Avakov reported said Investor Group had sold practically all of its assets in Ukraine.

In summer 2011 the office of Investor was searched as part of a criminal case opened on a fraud involving the acquisition by unknown people of a land plot with an area of over 700 hectares on the territory of a village council in Kharkiv region. Several employees of Investor were detained.
