Kyiv, Moscow to preserve dynamics of political dialogue, says Yanukovych

Ukraine and Russia will work hard to preserve the high dynamics of the political dialogue between them, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

"I would like to point to the mutual intention I have with Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin, Russian President] to preserve the high dynamics of our political dialogue, first of all, at the summit level," Yanukovych said after meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Novo-Ogaryovo on Monday.

Yanukovych said that at the meeting they had discussed all of the issues on the agenda of bilateral relations. In particular, they tackled cooperation in aerospace, energy, and other spheres.

According to him, they also touched the issue of the delimitation of the countries' joint border.

"The meeting today confirmed our mutual understanding of the fact that the completion of drawing up agreements and legal documents on delimitation of the Ukraine-Russia border should be supported by a range of measures contributing to strengthening of business contacts, as well as to free travel of Ukrainian and Russian citizens," he said.

The heads of states also discussed the further schedule of bilateral contacts.

"In the light of the expansion of our interregional cooperation, the successful holding of the Ukraine-Russia interregional economic forum in Nizhny Novgorod is extremely important," Yanukovych said.

According to him, in general the meeting confirmed the intention of both sides to develop further dynamic relations between the countries on the basis of strategic partnership.
