Yanukovych says he hopes for objectivity of international observers at elections

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said he hopes that the international observers at the upcoming parliamentary elections in Ukraine will be unbiased.

"Today we can see that biased assessments have appeared long before the elections. I've never been in the habit of shutting anyone's mouth. This is every politician's business, their personal attitude to political events," Yanukovych told Ukrainian journalists in New York on Tuesday, September 25.

At the same time, he expressed hope that not all international observers would be biased.

"I think that there will be a few observers with such biased attitude, while the others will monitor and make realistic assessments," the president said.

According to him, today almost all political parties have a few complaints.

"This is normal before any elections," he added.
