Nord Baltic Eight ministers visit Odesa, address defense of ports, energy facilities
The foreign ministers of Ukraine, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Finland, and Iceland visited Odesa region on Wednesday, the head of the regional military administration, Oleh Kiper, has said.
"The key topics under discussion included the strengthening of assistance for Ukraine, defense of ports and energy infrastructure, as well as bringing Russian war criminals to justice. We also agreed on the strengthening of Ukraine's defense capability, new investment in the defense industry, and strengthening of the sanctions pressure on Russia," he said on the Telegram channel on Wednesday.
The ministers visited wounded Ukrainian military in hospital and honored memory of the fallen heroes, as well as met with the leading exporters of agricultural products.
"We informed the Nord Baltic Eight foreign ministers on the security situation in the region and Black Sea and told them about the damage caused by Russian attacks. We also proposed Sweden to take our region under patronage. We count on further cooperation," Kiper said.
