Ukrainian forces already control more than 1,250 square km of enemy territory, 92 settlements – Zelenskyy
Ukrainian forces have already controlled more than 1,250 square meters of the territory of the Russian Federation and 92 settlements, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a meeting of heads of foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine dubbed "Military diplomacy: resilience, weapons, victory."
"Ukrainian soldiers continue their defensive operation in certain areas of Kursk region. Today, our forces control more than 1,250 square kilometers of enemy territory and 92 settlements," Zelenskyy said, as quoted by the press service of the head of state on Monday.
The President noted that "our positions are currently being strengthened, certain areas are being stabilized and the exchange fund for Ukraine is being replenished.
"In general, this operation has become our biggest investment in the process of liberating Ukrainians from Russian captivity - we have already received the largest number of Russian captives in one operation, and this is a significant result, and this is one of our goals, and our actions continue," Zelenskyy said.
The President noted that "we cannot speak yet publicly about which units are involved in certain areas of Kursk region. But I am grateful to every unit. I want to thank all our heroes on our behalf. Now the Russian border area opposite our Sumy region has been largely cleared of the presence of the Russian army. And this is also among the goals of our operation, tactical goals," the President said.
