Zelenskyy with NHK: Patience, support and diplomatic pressure are three factors for just end to war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that the factors influencing a just end to the war are "patience, support and diplomatic pressure," but if Western allies jointly increase pressure, this "will show Moscow that there is no chance." He said this in an interview with the Japanese news agency NHK.

Zelenskyy said, "Patience, support and diplomatic pressure are the three factors for a just end to the war." He added, "If the US and European nations maintain unity, it will added pressure and show Moscow that there is no chance."

Zelenskyy stressed that he cannot respond to calls for a ceasefire while Russia continues to occupy Ukrainian territory.

As for the US presidential election, Ukrainian officials, according to the head of state, contacted the campaign headquarters of Republican candidate Donald Trump and US Vice President Kamala Harris this month. Zelenskyy said that during a telephone conversation he invited Trump to visit Ukraine, NHK reports.

"If Mr Trump wants to know something about Ukraine, he can come and see for himself or ask me... We have been in contact with his team. Mr Trump told me he was available for any questions, and that I have his phone number," Zelenskyy said.
