Ukrnafta quadruples well's production rate due to own developments

PJSC Ukrnafta increased the flow rate of one of the wells by four times – to 60 tonnes from 14.5 tonnes of oil per day – due to its own developments and the experience of specialists.

“After putting it into operation, a flow rate of 60 tonnes per day of practically anhydrous oil was obtained. While the study of the well continues and the establishment of its optimal operating mode,” the company said in a press release, citing its director Serhiy Koretsky.

As explained in the document, the process of drilling a well is only part of the work during its operation.

“It is important that the facility operates efficiently. For this purpose, it is tested and researched, allowing it to subsequently reach an optimal operating mode, and therefore an optimal flow rate,” the company noted.

According to the press service, the flow rate of one of Ukrnafta's wells at depths of 1,085-1,122 meters during its development decreased from 22 tonnes to 14.5 tonnes per day.

“Hydrodynamic studies have shown that the productive formations are contaminated,” the press release says.

To increase the productivity of the well, a major workover was carried out on it in January, during which it was possible to attract a number of productive formations in the intervals of 1,007–1,017 meters and 1,018–1,065 meters.
