Ukrzaliznytsia calls on farmers to redirect cargo flows to Hungary
Deputy Director of the Commercial Work Department of the Ukrzaliznytsia company Valeriy Tkachev called on farmers to reorient themselves from the Polish to the Hungarian direction in connection with attempts by Polish farmers to block railway tracks.
"Agrarian strikes are taking place in Poland. I don't know what caused them, but today it has already reached the point of blocking railway transport – the access roads of some terminals and even attempts to block main roads. We are waiting for the reaction of Polish law enforcement officers. And in general, it is necessary to somehow resolve this situation. Hungary is ready to transit these cargoes through its territory. And please keep in mind that today there is no such problem in Hungary. Therefore, if possible, redirect your flows and continue exporting," he said at an online meeting with Hungarian carriers on Tuesday.
Today, Hungarian joints are loaded not in full, Tkachev said. According to him, there are additional opportunities to increase the export and import of goods.
