Airline of Nova Poshta obtains air operator certificate

Supernova Airlines, part of the Nova Poshta group of companies, received a Ukrainian air operator certificate on January 6, which makes it possible to start cargo flights, the Nova Poshta press service reported.

"We are the first Ukrainian carrier that was able to fulfill all the requirements and received an air operator's certificate in the conditions of war. This is an example of the invincibility of Ukrainians and a reminder to other businesses that now is the best time to invest in Ukraine," Yaroslav Krasnozhon, the director of Supernova Airlines, said.

He stressed that the company believes in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and understands that fast and safe logistics is very important to accelerate victory and provide Ukrainians with the necessary goods.

The first flight with cargoes of Nova Poshta Global customers is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2023, the report says. To do this, the company already has two AN-26s, which it uses on a leasing basis.

The owner of both Supernova Airlines aircraft, according to the state register, is Expedition Aviation (FZC) from the UAE.

"Supernova Airlines will operate flights from the Ukrainian international airports Boryspil and Lviv after the end of the war, and while the Ukrainian sky is closed for flights, air transportation will be carried out from European airports closest to Ukraine," the company said.

As reported, on October 1, 2021, the Nova Poshta group of companies launched its own airline, Supernova Airlines, which delivers international cargo, has its own fleet and is subordinate to Nova Poshta Global.
