PM: govt decides to simplify all customs procedures as much as possible, no more paperwork at customs

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal says the government has decided to simplify all customs procedures as much as possible.

"The government has decided to simplify all customs procedures as much as possible. We aim to create the fastest customs in the world. No customs paperwork. Without paying VAT, duties and customs payments immediately after the adoption and entry into force of changes to the customs and tax codes," Shmyhal said in his address on Friday evening.

According to the prime minister, a declarative principle will apply: those wishing to remain on the common system will pay only VAT, while such registration will take no more than 15 minutes; those who just want to drive goods to Ukraine without any customs clearance will fill out a cargo customs declaration in advance and drive through.

"Cargo will go across the border without any obstacles," he said.

Shmyhal said the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers has already been passed, now the Verkhovna Rada should, as soon as possible, exempt all goods that are going to Ukraine from duties and VAT.
