Draft budget provides for 22.4% decline in expenses on subsidies in 2019

The draft national budget of Ukraine for 2019 provides for a decline of UAH 15.9 billion or 22.4% in expenses on housing subsidies compared with 2018.

According to the bill on the national budget for 2019 (No. 9000) dated September 15, 2018, in 2019 it is planned to allocate UAH 55.095 billion for subventions to local budgets for providing benefits and housing subsidies to the population to pay for electricity, natural gas, heat, water and sewage services, housing fees, management of the apartment building, handling of domestic waste, fees for installation, maintenance and replacement of commercial water and heat metering units, and subscriber maintenance for consumers of utilities in high-rise buildings under individual contracts.

At the same time, the subvention to local budgets for the provision of benefits and housing subsidies to the population to pay for relevant items in 2018 was UAH 70.992 billion.

The subvention to provide benefits and housing subsidies to the population to buy solid and liquid oven domestic fuel and liquefied gas is proposed at UAH 2.951 billion, a subvention to help families with children, low-income families, persons who do not have the right to a pension, persons with disabilities and other types of social assistance - UAH 63.004 billion.
