ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region) expects in autumn to complete the delivery of 500 high-sided cars under a financial leasing scheme, while the company's own fleet will double.

"This year we have purchased 500 high-sided wagons. Some of them have already been received, and in autumn we plan to fully close the deal. Our own fleet will double, which will allow us to carry out 10-15% of shipments on our own. Our goal is to bring our own fleet of cars to 1,500, this is about one-third of our total need (4,500 wagons)," Andriy Moroz, the head of external logistics at PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, said in an interview posted on the company's corporate website.

The manager explained that the increase in the fleet in conditions of a shortage of wagons in the country is the only way to ensure stable delivery of raw materials and shipment of metal products. In addition, costs for the delivery of outgoing and incoming goods, dependence on the market conditions, etc. are reduced.

The increase in own rolling stock has fully justified itself. The deficit of cars in Ukraine, according to some estimates, reaches 10,000 and be rising in the coming years. We can talk about a deficit of up to 18,000 railcars by 2021 as a whole across the country," the expert predicts.
