Ukrzaliznytsia to complete construction of railway express to Boryspil airport by Dec
Ukrzaliznytsia intends to complete the construction of a railway express line between Kyiv and Boryspil by December 1, 2018, the company said on its website.
According to the report, at this stage the construction of the line is carried out in several directions, in particular, 1.4 km of track have been built up to the construction site of the flyover, overpasses through the Kyiv-Kharkiv highway, two platforms for passengers near Terminal D are being built, and already 350 meters of the railway track from Boryspil airport in the direction of the overpass have been laid.
Acting Head of Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Kravtsov said it is planned to introduce a single ticket for various types of transport on the basis of a railway express to the airport.
"The client, for example, will be able to buy one ticket, which can be used to travel from Cherkasy to Kyiv, then by express train to Boryspil, and then to London using the same ticket."
In addition, the company plans for the first time to introduce cash machines and contactless payment for travel on the train on this line.
