The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with the approval of the financial plan of public joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia on February 14 endorsed the increase of tariffs for passenger transportation in 2018 by 25%, acting Board Chairman of Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Kravtsov has said.

"In the final version of the financial plan the increase of passenger tariffs twice was approved: by 12% from April 1 and October 1," he told reporters on Thursday during his visit to inspect construction of the Beskydsky tunnel.

With regard to freight tariffs Kravtsov said that the financial plan provides for income from deregulation of the wagon component.

"We also initiated the rejection of off-class cargoes. We said for a long time that we need to bring classes closer together. We will try to do it more rapidly," the head of Ukrzaliznytsia said.

He said that following the results of the first half of this year, he expects to revise the financial plan expanding it.
