lifecell asking NCCR head to settle situation about non-receiving of SMS by Kyivstar's subscribers from lifecell's clients

The lifecell mobile communications operators has asked the National Commission for Communications and Informatization Regulation (NCCR) over the situation when Kyivstar mobile communications operator does not send short SMS messages from lifecell subscribers to Kyivstar's subscribers.

"Unfortunately, over the problems in the Kyivstar network SMS messages from our subscribers that they successfully sent to Kyivstar's subscribers have not reached the SMS recipients for over 24 hours… taking into account often technical disconnections we applied to the NCCR asking to consider the problem and find the decision to prevent it," lifecell CEO Ismet Yazici said.

There were no problems with sending SMS messages to networks and from networks of other operators.

The press service of Kyivstar denied accusations, adding that the operator is exchanging SMS messages with all telecom networks as usual.

"Bulk unwanted SMS from the lifecell network were identified by the Kyivstar's IT systems as spam, which causes difficulties with delivery of these messages," the press service of the operator said.
