Production of passenger cars in Ukraine in January-February 2017, according to preliminary data from the Ukrautoprom association, increased by 50% compared to the same period in 2016, to 559 units, while all the cars were still produced by PJSC Eurocar (Zakarpattia region), the manufacturer of Skoda cars.

According to the association, in February the plant produced 259 cars, which is 76% more than in January 2016, but 14% less than in January 2017.

Thus, car production at Zaporizhia Automobile Plant (ZAZ) and Bogdan Corporation is still standing idle.

At the same time, in January-February ZAZ produced 112 vehicles, including 109 commercial vehicles and three buses, of which 50 commercial cars and one bus in February.

The association said Ukraine in the two months manufactured 88 buses against five buses for the same period of 2016.

In particular, 43 units were produced by Cherkasy Bus, 24 units by Chasiv Yar bus plant, 16 units by Chernihiv Automobile Plant of Etalon Corporation, three by ZAZ, two buses by Bogdan Corporation.
