Public joint-stock company Agrarian Fund has announced the start of the spring forward grain purchase campaign of 2017.

According to a posting on the company's website, purchase prices for second class wheat are UAH 4,600 per tonne and for third class wheat – UAH 4,500 per tonne.

Board Chairman Andriy Radchenko said that Agrarian Fund will continue cooperating with small and medium-sized farms.

"In 2016 we financed farmers with UAH 1.5 billion. A total of 190 contracts to buy wheat, rye and buckwheat were signed. We will work on increasing the number of contracts with medium-sized agricultural companies and farms. If in 2015, 20 contracts were signed between Agrarian Fund and farmers, in 2016 there were 323 contracts," he said.

As reported, the total volume of grain bought under the program would be 760,000 tonnes. The minimum batch of wheat is 100,000 tonnes. The advance payment is set by the risk commission of Agrarian Fund in line with the client assessment system. It cannot exceed 65% of the total cost of the supplied volume under the contract.
