Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine, Lifecell and Ukrtelecom agree to promote setting up charitable message platform

Mobile and fixed-line telecommunications operators, including Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine, Lifecell and Ukrtelecom, jointly with the Ukrainian Forum of Philanthropists have signed a memorandum on the development and introduction of the all-Ukrainian platform of charitable telecommunications messages.

"The most important thing is that through this platform we can collect large amounts of money for charity. If our customers want to donate, for example, one kopeck from each minute of conversation, the sums will be quite interesting," Kyivstar President Peter Chernyshov said.

Director of the Ukrainian Forum of Philanthropists Hanna Hulevska-Chernysh said the platform could be launched in September 2017. Prior to its launch it is planned to discuss the details of software, as well as protection against fraud.

As reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in November signed the law exempting charitable text messages from taxation.
