PrivatBank repays NBU refinancing worth UAH 1.064 bln

PrivatBank (Dnipropetrovsk) on the last day of 2015 repaid refinancing loans issued by the National Bank of Ukraine totaling UAH 1.064 billion, received in 2014-2015, according to a press release of the financial institution.

"Refinancing loans are very expensive liabilities and the bank, first of all, returns them given the positive dynamics of the deposit portfolio and stabilization of the situation in the financial market," First Deputy Chairman of PrivatBank Oleh Horokhovsky said.

According to the report, in the fourth quarter of 2015 the increase in individuals' deposits in PrivatBank was UAH 8.52 billion, which is UAH 2.9 billion more than the increase for the third quarter of the same year.

PrivatBank was founded in 1992. As of July 7, 2015 its largest shareholders were Hennadiy Boholiubov and Ihor Kolomoisky with the shares of 45.3182%.
