Govt to submit package of bills on structural reforms with draft +2016 state budget to parliament

The Ukrainian government will submit a package of bills on structural reforms along with the draft national budget for 2016 and the draft tax reform to the Verkhovna Rada to ensure a balanced budget, Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko has said.

"The government plans in the coming weeks to submit a package of laws, which will allow for adopting the national budget for 2016 built on the new tax base and which at the same time will provide a significant reduction in public spending, including by carrying out structural reforms in many sectors of the budget, "she said at a joint briefing with Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk and US Treasury Secretary Jack Lew in Kyiv.

According to her, the approval of the balanced budget and the implementation of other reforms within the framework of the IMF program will allow Ukraine to quickly receive around $ 4 billion, including the third tranche under the EFF program by the IMF in the amount of $ 1.7 billion and US loan guarantees of $ 1 billion, significantly increasing the reserves from the current figure of $ 13 billion.

Jaresko noted that the government's draft tax reform is built on three principles: reducing the tax and regulatory burden on businesses and the alignment of rules for the approval of justice.
