Delta bank repays UAH 1.6 bln of targeted loan provided by deposit guarantee fund

Delta Bank has repaid UAH 1.6 billion of the targeted credit provided by the Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund, the fund said on its website.

The bank used its own income to repay the amount.

The raised funds were used to pay UAH 8.47 billion to depositors during the duration of temporary administration at the bank.

The fund said that the payment by Delta Bank was 96% of the sum of the repaid targeted credits issued by the fund to banks with temporary administrations since early 2015.

As reported, on October 2, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) decided to remove the banking license of Delta Bank (Kyiv) and liquidate it.

Delta Bank was placed to the category of troubled banks in October 2014, and on March 3, 2015 – in the category of insolvent banks.

Delta Bank was founded in 2006. Its largest shareholders in early 2015 were Mykola Lahun (70.6059%) and Cargill Financial Services International, Inc. (29.3941%).

Delta Bank ranked fourth among 158 banks operating in the country on January 1, 2015 by total assets (UAH 60.303 billion), according to the NBU.
