Deposit Guarantee Fund to suspend payments to Delta Bank depositors on Sept 15

The Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund will suspend payments to the depositors of Delta Bank (Kyiv) on September 15, according to the fund's Facebook page.

"We recommend the depositors of Delta Bank, who had no time to receive their funds within the guaranteed amount, to [address] the relevant partner bank (Oschadbank, Ukreximbank, Ukrgasbank, PrivatBank) no later than September 14, as this is the last day of payments receipt," the fund said.

Fund managing director Kostiantyn Vorushilin had previously said that the fate of the bank, whether it will be liquidated or sold, would be determined on September 11.

"We hope the transaction will take place, but are also preparing for liquidation. Tomorrow we will have the decision on the bank," he said.

Delta Bank was founded in 2006. Its largest shareholders in early 2015 were Mykola Lahun (70.6059%) and Cargill Financial Services International, Inc. (29.3941%).

Delta Bank ranked fourth among 158 banks operating in the country on January 1, 2015 by total assets (UAH 60.303 billion), according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
