Ukraine to send its position on gas talks to European Commission, Russia by end of this week – minister

Ukraine plans to formulate its positions on gas talks and send it to the European Commission and Russia by the end of this week, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"I think that by the end of this week the issue [informing on own position] would be settled. The main message is similar to the previous protocol: take-or-pay, the payment for [gas] transit using money… The only new thing is liabilities to accumulate funds and confirm the financial capability of buying gas," he said.
As reported, referring to Demchyshyn, the cost of Russian gas transportation via Ukraine is $32 per 1,000 cubic meters and the Ukraine's position in the trilateral gas talks is that the price of Russian gas is to be cut by at least this sum.
