Horizon Capital investment company enters capital of online retail leader Rozetka.ua

Horizon Capital investment company, one of the leaders on the Ukrainian private equity market, has invested in Rozetka.ua, the largest online retailer in Ukraine, Economic Development and Trade Minister Aivaras Abromavicius has said.

"Lenna Koszarny [the founder and CEO of Horizon Capital] from Horizon Capital announced new investment in Rozetka.ua," he wrote on his Twitter page while attending an investment conference organized by the Ukrainian government in Washington on Monday.

Other details have not been disclosed.

Horizon Capital was founded in 2006. Horizon Capital manages three funds - Emerging Europe Growth Fund (EEGF), EEGF II and Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF), the aggregate capital of which exceeds $600 million. The funds are invested in Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus. The former head of Horizon Capital Natalie Jaresko has led the Finance Ministry of Ukraine since late 2014.

The key owner of Rozetka.ua is its founder and head Vladyslav Chechetkin. The company started with online trading of home appliances and electronics and occupies a 35% share of the market, however in the past years the company has tried to win leading positions in all key online trade segments.

According to the state register, the owner of Rozetka.ua LLC (Kyiv) is Temania Enterprises Limited (Cyprus) and its end beneficiary is Chechetkin.
