Malyshev tank plant appoints chief designer Sheiko as new head

Ukroboronprom State Concern has replaced the director general of state enterprise Malyshev plant (Kharkiv) and appointed Oleksandr Sheiko as acting CEO instead of Mykola Belov, who has headed the plant since August 2014, as well as in 2011-2012.

According to a post on Ukroboronprom's website, the new head of the plant was appointed after the state concern had checked the plant's performance to fulfill the state defense order and export contracts.

"The staff reshuffle at the plant should speed up the implementation by the plant of the state defense order and strategic foreign contracts," the press service said, citing Ukroboronprom deputy director Serhiy Pinkas.

Malyshev plant is a Ukrainian manufacturer of armored vehicles, which is well known across the world.

Among the most important partners of the plant are Pakistan, China, Iraq, Egypt, and Thailand.

Malyshev plant has been part of Ukroboronprom since January 2011.
