Health Ministry, Sanofi sign memorandum to improve medical services for Ukrainians

Ukraine's Ministry of Health and Sanofi in Ukraine, part of Sanofi global pharmaceutical group, have signed a memorandum of understanding to improve the provision medical services to Ukrainians, which will be in effect until 2017.

According to a press release issued by the pharmaceutical manufacturer, the memorandum covers cooperation in the fight against diabetes, early detection of breast cancer, diagnosis of rare diseases by introducing innovative methods of diagnosis, and developing and popularizing pharmacoeconomic directions to support the treatment of patients with chronic diseases.

According to Sanofi CEO for Ukraine and Belarus Jean-Paul Scheuer, the pharmaceutical company supports the efforts of the Health Ministry to change the Ukrainian health care system for the better.

"Sanofi has many years of experience and is ready to share it with Ukrainian authorities, because our mission is to address critical issues related to health care and access to quality medicines and health services. We are confident that together we will be able to bring positive changes to the health care system so that Ukrainians could receive better access to treatment and maintain health, because this is a common goal to which we all aspire," the expert said.

Sanofi (France) discovers, develops and distributes therapeutic solutions focused on patients' needs. In the health sector it focuses on solutions to treat diabetes, develop vaccines, innovative drugs, consumer health care, emerging markets, veterinary, and so on.
