The State Nuclear Inspectorate of Ukraine has verified that Westinghouse fuel at reactor three of Yuzhnoukrainsk nuclear power plant (NPP) performed flawlessly, the press service of the transnational company reported on Thursday.

"The results were verified and validated by the State Nuclear Inspectorate of Ukraine. Forty-two Westinghouse fuel assemblies, delivered to Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP in November 2014, now will be loaded into reactor three in the coming days," reads the press release.

"Following comprehensive inspections of all nuclear fuel at Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP, it has been concluded by joint Energoatom and Westinghouse experts that the Westinghouse fuel has performed exactly to specification and has not exhibited any flaws in its operation, as expected," Westinghouse President for Europe, Middle East and Africa Yves Brachet said.
