Ukrtransgaz plans to consume about 2.6 bln cubic meters of gas in 2015

PJSC Ukrtransgaz, which operates Ukraine's gas transport system, plans to funnel 2.580 billion cubic meters of natural gas to meet its own needs in 2015.

The company stated in an announcement in the Visnyk Derzhavnykh Zakupivel state procurements bulletin that a tender to buy the said amount of natural gas on December 30, 2014 was cancelled due to lack of interest, with fewer than two bids being submitted.

In connection with this, Ukrtransgaz may announce a tender using its one-bidder procedure, whith NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy bidding.

As reported, Ukrtransgaz in 2013 increased natural gas consumption for its needs by 15.8% from 2012, to 2.442 billion cubic meters. In particular, 1.966 billion cubic meters of gas was used for power and start-up gas, 16.9% up on 2012.

In 2014, Ukrtransgaz plans to consume 1.954 billion cubic meters of gas.

Ukrtransgaz, wholly owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates the trunk gas pipelines system, as well as 12 underground gas storage facilities in Ukraine.
