Ukrainian oil output down 5.7%, gas up 2.3% in 11 months

Oil production in Ukraine decreased by 5.7% year-over-year in January-November 2014 to 1.86 million tonnes, a source in the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has told Interfax-Ukraine.

Production of gas condensate was down 14.9% to 647,600 tonnes.

Affiliates of the national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy, not taking into account Chornomornaftogaz, cut oil production by 5.5% to 1.732 million tonnes and gas condensate output by 21% to 493,100 tonnes, of which Ukrnafta produced 1.62 million tonnes of oil, down 4.5%, and 115,500 tonnes of gas condensate, down 30%; Ukrgazvydobuvannia produced 112,000 tonnes of oil, down 17.6%, and 377,500 tonnes of condensate, down 17.8%.

Other companies cut oil output by 8.1% to 127,400 tonnes, but raised condensate output by 13.3% to 154,600 tonnes.

Ukraine produced 18.099 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas in 11 months of 2014, 2.3% more than in the same period of last year, including 17.464 bcm of natural gas, up 2.6%.

Naftogaz Ukrainy, not taking into account Chornomornaftogaz, cut gas production 1% to 15.425 bcm, including 14.879 bcm of natural gas, up 0.8%.

Other major gas producers included Naftogazvydobuvannia with 660,891 mcm, up 44.2%; Esko-Pivnich with 535.896 mcm, up 40.8%; and LLC KUB Gas with 307.43 mcm, up 20.2%.
