Dollar, euro break new records in Russia, dollar more than doubles in value this year

The dollar and euro continue to scale new highs against the ruble on the Moscow Exchange, hitting new all-time highs for the seventh day running.
The dollar was up 255 kopecks from previous closing to 66.999 rubles/$1 by 11:40 a.m. and the euro was up 430 kopecks to 83.2 rubles/$1.
In the last seven days, the dollar has risen 27.6% or around 14.5 rubles and the euro 28.7% or around 18.5 rubles.
The dollar has gone up 104% against the ruble since the start of the year and the euro has risen 83.5%, the Interfax Center for Economic Analysis said.
