Efes Ukraine, one of the largest breweries in Ukraine, produced 23.5 million decaliters of beer in 2013, which is 26% up year-over-year, the company's press service has reported.

The press service said that in the fourth quarter of 2013 production grew by 1.5 times, to 5.1 million decaliters (3.4 million decaliters in October-December 2012).

Efes Ukraine (formerly Miller Brands Ukraine) is owned by Efes Breweries International and is the Ukrainian subsidiary of the Efes international group, the fifth largest beer producer in Europe.

Prior to 2012, Miller Brands Ukraine belonged to SABMiller, but as a result of a strategic alliance, the company in March 2012 was transferred to Efes, which hadn't been present in Ukraine until then.

Efes group includes 18 breweries, seven malting plants and 20 plants for bottling Coca-Cola drinks in 16 countries.

Efes Ukraine produces and imports beer under the Miller Genuine Draft, REDD'S, Zolota Bochka, Velkopopovicky Kozel Svetly, Amsterdam Mariner, Amsterdam Navigator, Sarmat, Zhigulivske, Dobry Shubin, Belyj Medved, Stary Melnik, and Kruzhka Svizhogo brands.

According to the Ukrpyvo organization, Ukraine made 276.4 million decaliters of beer in 2013, a decline of 8% year-over-year.
