Real wages in Ukraine 0.8% up in April 2013

Real wages in Ukraine in April 2013 grew by 0.8% compared to March 2013, and by 10.8% compared to April 2012, the State Statistics Service has said.

The highest growth in real wages in April 2013 compared to April 2012 was seen in the following regions: Volyn (14.6%), Kyiv (14.3%), Lviv (13.9%), Rivne (13.8%), Chernihiv (13.3%), Vinnytsia (13.2%), Kharkiv (13.0%), Khmelnytsky (12.5%), Zhytomyr (12.4%), Zakarpattia (12.3%) and Kherson regions (12.1%).

Real wages in the city of Kyiv in April were 7.6% up compared to the same period last year, in Sevastopol 7.4% up, and in Crimea 11.3% up.

As the State Statistics Service said, the average monthly salary of full-time employees in Ukraine in April 2013 came to UAH 3,233.

The highest wages in April 2013 were recorded in Kyiv (UAH 4,999) and the lowest in Ternopil region (UAH 2,283).

Increases in wages in April 2013 compared to the same month in 2012 were registered in the following branches of the economy: agriculture, forestry and fishing (14.1%), wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repairs (13.7%), arts, sports and entertainment (13.6%), construction (10.6%), the industrial sector (10.4%), temporary accommodation and catering (10.2%), health care and social aid (9.5%), education (9.1%), public administration, defense and obligatory social insurance (8.6%).
