Fozzy Group expands Silpo supermarket chain to 239 stores

The Kyiv-based Fozzy Group on March 30, 2013 opened a Silpo supermarket at 44-B, Academician Pavlov Street in Kharkiv - the 19th store in the city and the 239th in Ukraine, reads a press release of the group.

The press release says that retail area of the supermarket with 24 checkouts, located in the French Boulevard shopping mall, is over 3,800 square meters. The range of goods is around 20,000 items.

The Silpo supermarket chain is part of the Fozzy Group, the largest food retail group in Ukraine. The group's turnover in 2011 grew by 30.2%, to over UAH 21 billion, while the indicator for 2010 was 37.5% up on 2009's.

The first Silpo supermarket opened in 1998. The total trade area of the chain is around 200,000 square meters. The chain is present in all regions of Ukraine and Crimea.

Fozzy Group has been working in Ukraine since 1997. The group includes Silpo supermarkets, Le Silpo premium format stores, Fora and Bumi convenience stores, Fozzy hypermarkets, Bila Romashka pharmaceutical supermarkets, and the ringoo personal electronics chain.

Its production division is represented by the Nizhyn canning factory and the Varto poultry farm.
