LPG handling terminal launched in Kerch

1 min read

CJSC Asia-Europe Gas Terminal (AEGT, Kerch) has launched a liquefied gas handling terminal with capacity of 1 million tonnes a year in Kerch, Ukraine.

"The terminal will provide handling services for liquefied gas from railway tankers, for further transport by sea to European countries and Turkey," the Crimean Republican Committee on Transport and Communications said in a statement.

The terminal is comprised of a pier for pouring liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) into liquefied gas tankers with carrying capacity of up to 5,000 tonnes, an LPG storage base, a laboratory, a gas mixing station and railroad infrastructure.

The gas terminal in Kerch was built under Kazakh-American company Tengizchevroil's export program to provide services for transshipping transit LPG from railroad transport to LPG tankers. The terminal is the centerpiece of a transit export line between Kazakhstan and countries in the Black Sea and Mediterranean Sea basins.

LLC Dala-Trans and LLC Dala Group, both based in Astana, Kazakhstan, each own 50% of AEGT's stock.
