Sport is restored after quarantine. Ukrainian Golf Federation Ukraine held its first tournament
After the quarantine was relaxed, Ukrainian Golf Federation resumed golf tournaments.
On Saturday, June 6, the Kozin Golf Club hosted a women's golf competition as part of the Open Ladies Golf Tour. Ukrainian women-golfers from all over the country gathered at the Kozin golf course. Men played in a separate event for supporting of the women athletes.
The winners of the Tournament were: 1st place - Elena Rudik, 2nd place - Marina Dyachenko, 3rd place - Elena Movchan, Gross - Elena Movchan. In the nominations "closest to the pin" - Maria Orlova, "longest drive" - Julia Lishchuk. In a special competition in the "Junior" category, the first place was won by Anna Freidinova.
“The annual series of competitions are held within the framework of the program of the Ukrainian Golf Federation to promote women's and children's golf, increase the sportsmanship of players, cooperation and promotion of golf clubs and golf courses in Ukraine. This year, the final of the Open Ladies Golf Tour is included in the calendar of world golf competitions of the European Golf Association EGA ", - said the President of the All-Ukrainian Golf Federation Vitaly Khomutynnik, welcoming the winners.
According to him, in 2020 the Golf Federation introduced many changes that caused the rapid development of this sport in Ukraine. Now golf is available.
“Every time I see more and more golfers in our country, and the golf movement is gaining momentum, I feel a huge surge of energy and realize that the whole way, from a small idea to a large-scale golf tour, was not in vain. It is a pity that Covid-19 has changed our plans and pace a bit, but now it is "full forward" to new achievements, "said Elena Rudik, director of the Open Ladies Golf Tour, a member of the board of the All-Ukrainian Golf Federation.
Famous golfers - boxer Vladimir Klitschko and head coach of the national football team of Ukraine Andrei Shevchenko also visited the golf tournament to support it.
We will remind, in October of last year, Andrey Shevchenko entered the board of All-Ukrainian golf federation.
