Epidemic threshold for incidence of ARVI, influenza and COVID-19 exceeded in three regions

In three regions of Ukraine, the epidemic threshold for the incidence of ARVI, influenza and COVID-19 has been exceeded, the Ministry of Health reported.

According to the department, as of January 31, a high level of exceeding the epidemiological threshold was registered in Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky and Chernivtsi regions.

At the same time, in five regions - Vinnytsia, Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil and Chernihiv - an average level of excess is recorded.

The Ministry of Health recalls that during the week from January 22 to January 28, some 185,402 Ukrainians fell ill with ARVI, influenza and COVID-19, of which 96,120 were children under 17 years of age.

Some 3,492 patients were diagnosed with COVID-19 within a week. Some 6,120 people were hospitalized, of which 2,607 were children. In addition, during this period, 34 deaths were recorded among patients with coronavirus infection and eight among patients with influenza. All the deceased did not have preventive vaccinations against influenza and were not vaccinated against COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health reminds that if the epidemiological situation becomes more complicated, regional emergency commissions can locally implement measures aimed at reducing the risk and spread of the epidemic, including the introduction of a mask regime.
