It will be possible to defeat Russia when all NATO countries stand for war completion – Zelenskyy

It will be possible to defeat Russia in its war against Ukraine when all NATO member states fully stand on the side of ending this war as their own, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is confident.

"Ukraine is not in NATO, because there are indeed several skeptical countries. What is this group of states afraid of? They fear escalation from Russia. This is an official such statement. But I can't tell now which countries they are. You are smart, you yourself will understand," Zelenskyy said during a joint conversation with the Polish Prime Minister with students of Ukrainian universities.

As he noted, "it sounds very insulting."

"I'll tell you why. Because they say there will be an escalation from Russia. That is, it says that this war is not theirs, which is happening now. And that's why I think it's humiliating and treacherous towards Ukraine. Because when someone says that there will be an escalation, we are afraid, it says specifically that now we are here [in an escalation, war], where about a third of the territory is occupied and how many people have died. And this suggests that this is not an escalation for them. That is, this is not a war for everyone, even for those who help you and who believe that Russia is an occupier," the President said.

As Zelenskyy stressed, all of the above suggests that "it will be possible to defeat Russia when all [NATO countries] are completely frank, open and really on the side of ending the war."

"And they will think about the security of society, and not about their personal political security. But we are fighting this skepticism [by a group of countries]," he concluded.
