Denisova visits Russian citizen Sedikov in penal colony in Kyiv region

Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova visited Bucha penal colony No. 85 (Kyiv region) on Tuesday, July 31, and met with Alexei Sedikov, a Russian citizen convicted for terrorism, whom Russian human rights commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova had previously wanted to visit.
"Alexei Sedikov, a Russian citizen convicted for terrorism, is serving his term in this colony. He is in the list of those to be visited by Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalko. Since the agreements between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia on the unhindered visits of prisoners have been suspended, I personally visited Sedikov at Moskalkova's request," the Ukrainian ombudsman wrote on her Facebook page on Tuesday.
According to her, the health of the convicted Russian citizen and the conditions of his detention are satisfactory. But, according to the colony's doctor, Sedikov needs an urgent operation, Denisova said.
