Govt. corruption, war in Donbas, high prices are most important problems in Ukraine – GfK Ukraine survey

Ukrainians think government corruption, the war in Donbas and price increases are the most important problems in the country, according to poll results conducted by GfK Ukraine and released in Kyiv on Thursday.

Respondents were asked which three problems are the most important in Ukraine. Some 46% said corruption in state bodies, the war in Donbas – 41%, price increases – 34%, low production levels – 27%, unemployment – 24%, incompetent officials – 21%, political instability – 17%, social protection of the poor – 16% and crime - 11%.

The poll was conducted from June 30 to July 8, 2018 among 2,753 Ukrainian citizens aged 18 and over through a personal interview. The sample is representative of age, sex, region and type of settlement. The margin of error does not exceed 1.9%.
