NATO foreign ministers to discuss on Friday how to counter threats from Russia

The foreign ministers of NATO member countries will discuss Russia at a meeting on Friday and consider what can be done to better confront hybrid threats, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said.

"We will begin with a meeting to discuss Russia. For several years, Moscow has shown a pattern of dangerous behavior," he said at a press conference in Brussels on Thursday.

He said that this included the illegal and illegitimate annexation of Crimea, the destabilization of eastern Ukraine, meddling in democratic processes, cyber-attacks, and disinformation.

Speaking about Russia, he added that "we continue to see attempts to intimidate and interfere in Allied countries."

"So we must continue to adapt to hybrid challenges. And ministers will examine what more we can do," Stoltenberg said.
